Kevin Mcewen - Public speaker

As the Executive Director of the Kofago Institute and a Lecturer in Dance at Lehman College (CUNY), Kevin’s lectures, workshops, and keynote talks invite audiences to explore how art, identity, and education intersect to build bridges across the African Diaspora. Kevin has presented across universities, arts institutions, and conferences, and will be a featured lecturer at Georgia State University, November 7–9, 2025, where he will speak on “Community Engagement through Collegiate Dance Education Programming: Collegiate Dance Programs as Agents of Community Transformation.”

Kevin McEwen is an educator, cultural folklorist, consultant, and project manager with nearly three decades of experience bridging the worlds of dance, education, and community engagement. As the founder of the Kofago Dance Ensemble and Executive Director of the Kofago Institute, Kevin has built a career rooted in the power of the African Diaspora to educate, inspire, and transform communities. His lectures and workshops draw from a global perspective shaped by cultural exchanges and performances in Senegal, Haiti, Uganda, and across the United States. Kevin’s expertise extends from arts-based non-profit consulting and program design to leadership development, professional growth, and culturally responsive pedagogy. Known for his dynamic, engaging speaking style, Kevin delivers presentations that spark dialogue, expand cultural awareness, and empower audiences to take meaningful action in their personal and professional lives.
