Kevin McEwen
Kevin McEwen is an educator, cultural folklorist, arts administrator, and public speaker whose work bridges the worlds of dance, education, and community development. As a Lecturer in Dance at Lehman College and Queensborough Community College, and the Founder and Executive Director of the Kofago Institute, Kevin combines artistry with strategy—drawing on his professional background in project management, grant writing, and operational leadership. His work explores how culture and movement shape identity, empower communities, and inspire the next generation of artists, educators, and cultural leaders.

Kevin McEwen is an educator, cultural folklorist, and performing arts leader dedicated to empowering communities through the arts. As a Lecturer in Dance at Lehman College and Queensborough Community College, and the Founder of the Kofago Dance Ensemble, he bridges education, performance, and culture to preserve and celebrate the traditions of the African Diaspora.
Kevin offers lectures, workshops, and consulting that connect art, education, and community. His work includes teaching at the collegiate level, leading public speaking engagements, managing cultural programs, and developing initiatives through the Kofago Institute that promote creativity, leadership, and social awareness.
Rooted in the belief that education, culture, and community drive transformation, Kevin blends scholarship, artistry, and administrative expertise to create meaningful, human-centered learning experiences that inspire reflection, connection, and change.
